ITEC Help...

Post by Wes Krygsman »

I am not able to make ITEC this year and was wondering if anyone who's taking notes during the masterclasses and lectures could send them my way?

Also, anyone recording anything, please send me those as well. Thanks!

Videos are being made of at least some of the sessions. I noticed video was being made in Floyd Cooley's lecture on teaching today, for example. There was discussion about posting video on the web in recent board meetings, but it isn't clear to me what the outcome of that was.

You guys who are already there and have had the opportunity to get the 'lay of the land'.... I'm only spending one day (Thursday) ... mostly at the exhibits. Any time-saving tips?

The exhibits are scattered a bit. The elephant rooms are all in the basement of the Musical Arts Center. Go in the side door towards the Simon building and straight ahead on the left there are two rooms with horns. To get to the other two rooms, go back towards the door and at the first hall go left and then at the next hall go left again. ( you will see a big Adams sign.)
After you have been there go across the street to the Simon building. enter through the side door. Go down the stair and enter the hall. At the first hall to your right go right and out the door to the outside and around to your right to see Bloke, Parker mouthpieces, Wessex, and Hofer repair and Martin Wilk.
Yamaha is back inside the building up to the second floor and Yamaha is down a ways on the left. Lee Stofer is on the top floor and is on the right.
If you want to look at music go to the mezzanine level back in the MAC and there are some displays there. Jut for Brass is down in the room with Miraphone and the Tuba Exchange
Have fun. I did.
Try the Lee Stofer tuba he is making. It is a really nice horn. If I had the bucks I would have bought it! I liked the Kanstul 4/4 horn and the Adams 4/4 too. I don't do the bigger horns as I am a3/4 sized person.

Now that the dust has settled, anyone have notes, audio, or video from ITEC2014?
