Contrasting finishes on a horn

The Conns come in satin silver with bright silver finish...and at one point that had the same for their satin lacquer too (not sure if they still offer it since I have not seen one for quite some time)

I have always thought bright silver finish with gold accents looks classy when done in moderation. Just my opinion though

Regarding the finish of a silver or satin silver horn, what are folks opinions on contrasting with either gold, or bright silver (in the case of a satin horn), or even something else?

Where would you contrast to look classy but not overdone?

Some horns are tricked-out this way I know - any photos for discussion would be great!

I do not have anything on my tubas but in years past I did get the Getzen trim kit on my Cornet and think it is not overdone. Perhaps someday when I get rich I will have my tuba valve caps, thumb ring and trigger plated that way as it might be a nice touch and help with tarnish on those most often touched spots too.

if you want to see a really beautiful horn and are ever in Jacksonville,Fl. or at SERTEC in Athens this week, check out James Jenkins' customized York BBb. all the slides are gold plated and there's even a naked lady engraved on the bell.The owner before James spent tons of money on the restoration. James does it justice with the sound he gets on the horn. of course he also sounds good on every other horn he's played
