Anyone own a Conn Orchestra Grand or Phonograph Tuba in CC?

Post by bisontuba »

Hi-
Does anyone own an old Conn Orchestra Grand Bass, Symphony, or Phonograph Bass model Tuba in CC? According to early Conn catalogs courtesy of the Sax Museum, they made them.

I would purely love for one of these to pop up, but I've never seen one, or heard of one, except in these old catalogues.

I can't say for certain that it actually was a "phonograph" model but, the ad strongly reminds me of a tuba Harvey had when I studied with him in Boston.

It was a small CC (smaller than his normal horn). It had belonged to Helleberg, was gold plated in satin finish and had both upright and front detachable bells. Maybe it lives at the Tubaranch.
