I have a 20+ year old Yamaha 321 Tuba that has several areas on the valves (1 - 3) that the finish is worn off and also some rough and pitted spots. The horn plays well but I feel some blow by coming from the drain holes at the base of the valves. The valves require lots of oiling or they stick and the horn sometimes sounds like there is a leak in it. Is it due a valve job and if so has anyone had one done, what were the costs and what is done?
