Wessex Brahms F tuba

Post by hikerjoe »

Does anyone own or played a Wessex Brahms F tuba? If not, how about the Wessex Strauss F tuba? I would love to know your opinion. Thanks.

Hi-
I believe the Brahms is a redesigned & improved version of the JinBao F 600 tuba. The Strauss is the PT-10 clone. The PT-10 clone -JinBao F 540 tuba- has been favorably written about in prior posts.

In case you missed it, Mark posted his review of the PT-10 clone (sold by Wessex as their Strauss model) back in August.

We plan to have a prototype of the 5 valve at the U.S. Army conference later this month. I have just been play testing a few at the factory, and if anything the intonation of the 5 valve is even better than the 6 valve due to new shorter leadpipe.

I will post picture when back on computer
