Hard Case for Miraphone 291 Bruckner
I cannot for the life of me find a hard case that fits the Miraphone 291 Bruckner model that I just purchased. I've tried two cases from WWBW and they assured me that both would fit the tuba, but they didn't! I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a hard case that would fit this tuba specifically. The cases I've tried so far are the SKB Universal Mid-Size (their recommendation, not my choice) and the MTS 1207V (again, their recommendation).

Ask Roger Lewis... if anyone would know, he would.
Also, I *believe* you should look for a Winter case, I think they are the ones that Miraphone uses...? (I could be wrong, but worth a look.)

Miraphone uses the same case for the 291 and the 1292 according to the Miraphone corporate page - http://www.miraphone.de/en/en_modeldeta ... E&v=3&l=en
According to Horn Guys' page - http://www.hornguys.com/tubacases.php - both of the cases you listed should fit the 1292, but since you're having trouble, your best bet is to get the Miraphone case.

Re: Hard Case for Miraphone 291 Bruckner
I got an MTS case from WWBW when I bought my Bruckner a few years ago. The case doesn't have a model number, but by its measurements it has to be a 1207.
The case is a snug fit for my Bruckner but it does fit. The padding definitely immobilizes the horn, but I don't feel like I have to jam the horn into the case and I don't have to force the lid closed. This case has worked fine for 4 years now, no damage to the horn.
I don't understand why you're having trouble with an MTS 1207 - could they have sent you a different model by mistake?

I've got a 1207 for my Bruckner as well. Fits great, but the final inch or so of closing the lid does require a modest amount of pressure. Like Curmudgeon says, the foam is doing its job. MTS was also great about getting me a replacement wheel a few years ago.

That's quite an arsenal of F clamps, but aren't you supposed to use C clamps on a Bruckner?bloke wrote:The
