York 91 is coming to Alabama!

Post by TubaZac2012 »

I sent the check to Lee today. Very excited to have this horn. I hate to say it, but I don't see ever parting with it. Not sure if I'm going to sell my other Mack Brass or not, but you'd best bet that I WILL be keeping this puppy for many years. I am beyond excited. I should get it this time next week. I don't think I'll be able to sleep! Yikes!

Big thanks to Lost for posting, I'm sure I was the first person to see it and call, because that's probably the best looking and playing York 91 on the planet.

So excited,
Zac

Are you gonna add a fourth (maybe fifth too) valve, or swap out the valve section?

And cut it to CC, too?

Eh. I don't know about all that. That may be years down the road, and that kinda goes against what I believe, as well. I'll post a video of me putting it through it's paces and see what you think. I've played one more before, and the privilege tones are so good on them you don't HAVE to have a 4th or 5th.

My thoughts exactly, Bort.

Then it would loose its identity.

Seriously, glad this tuba will have found someone who wants it as much as you do.

Yorks have a special mystique that some just don't get.
Yes sir, yes sir! I'm beyond excited. It is going to be my pride and joy. Sure, I could keep everything original, but yet got a 4th and 5th and made it a York, with Baer parts, sure, but no. If I want a 6/4 CC, and eventually I do most certainly, I'll get one the right way. For now I am PERFECTLY happy with my setup. Still debating if I'm getting rid of my Mack, though, since I really don't need it for my needs currently.
