Cleaning a lacquered bell

I have a 1980s lacquered Mirafone 184CC and it sat in a gig bag for a long time. The bag was cheap and the foam inside it broke down a bit and left little sticks things on the horn. What do you guys suggest for cleaning it?

You might try "Goo Gone" from your local big box store, or even peanut butter. Both of these work wonders with tacky surfaces such as refrigerator stickers. Give it a little time to work before wiping off.
