Holton bb340r?

Does anyone know anything about the Holton bb340r in BBb? When were these in production? This is a 4 valve horn similair to the bb346r except with a long, straight 3rd valve slide instead of a folded over one. If I'm not mistaken it is a convertable model. A convertible 4 valve tuba? go figure.
Does anyone know if there is a serial number list for these tubas? It looks to me like 70's or 80's but I can't tell. These are student instruments, right? Are they stencil horns?

This horn is identical to the Yamaha YBB 321 and has a Yamaha-like serial number 003xxx. Is this a Yamaha stencil? or a Yamaha copy?
