The John Packer 379 CC tuba Joe is going to be selling looks like a VERY nice tuba--see the sponsor's section.....and we all know what it is cloned from.....

Funny how all the "serious" guys were griping about the clones til the PT6 copy came out; I'd imagine this will have a similar reaction...

So you think this valve block would be a good alternative to making a Franken BAT? How much do you estimate a valve block running? When might they become available? This really would appeal to some because the block is already all there, it's cut to CC, and could work well on a BAT or any fraken project.

Just looking for a little info,

I haven't thought of my HB2P as not-lively, but after reading your suggestion I got a Schilke Helleberg II to try and it is a very nice match for this tuba. It is indeed lively and in tune.

From why I've been told my Bruno Tilz/Hirsbrunner M1 is very similar to the SH II. Works great on my HB-2. Better intonation, more colorful sound (on a tuba that is already very colorful), more focus, etc.
