Rotary valve issues

on my Mack Brass 410 CC tuba, my valves are running very slow, especially my 1st-3rd valves. Would it cause them to run slow if you oil them every day? Also, for my spindle oil, it is a bad idea to use 13.5 bearing and spindle oil? I feel that my oiling might be slowing them down? Can this be the case?

Quick response is very necessary, as I have an audition next Friday and this is definitely bothering me and making it incredibly hard to practice. Thanks for any input!

Flush those rotors out with ultrapure lamp oil and refrain from using rotor oil on anything other than just the front and rear bearings. The rotor oil will eventually get back into the rotors. When it does... just flush them out again.

Just caught this post, are you using hetmans synthetic oils on the inside of your valves? If so stop. Use a non synthetic oil for the rotors.

Feom reading some of your posts it doesnt sound like you have a regular teacher for private lessons so i would suggest getting one.

After a long time of only oiling my valves, I cleaned them. What a difference that made, I don't know why I waited. If cleaning them doesn't get them going, a good repair shop will apply years of experience and correct the situation.

I cleaned my valves with mineral spirits, a wire brush, Brasso and an old shirt, FWIW.
