Icemorelee Cornet Band Cir. 1918

Post by oldbandnerd »

I want to get more information about the Icemorelee Coronet Band. If anybody knows anything about this group or knows how I can find more please let me know. Google came up with just a small blurb about it,so that is not a good resource.

Here is what I know :

- The band was sponsered by the Iceemorlee Mill . Later known as the Johnston Spinning Co. I believe that it was a textile or a spinning mill.

- It was located in either Monroe or Charlotte, North Carolina .

- The Directors name was Jap Halloway.

That's about it.

I am interested in thie group because of a family connection. I just found out last year that my grandfather had two brothers that were in this band . Here's the kicker .... they both played euphonium. Just like me. What a coincedence . Their names are Bert Yandle and Warren Clyde Yandle .

I have a photocopy of a picture of this group .If I can figure out a way to get it posted here , I will .
