Tuba tech in Las Vegas?

Post by Trevor Bjorklund »

Any recommendations? My buddy's Amati has some travel induced problems and he's fighting it on stage.
Thanks for your ideas.

Hi Trevor,

Unfortunately, brass repair resources in Vegas are meager. There's nobody here who I would let touch one of my horns. I take my stuff down to Southern California when I need work done. Also, I've been told that there is a decent guy in St. George, Utah. However, I've never had occasion to use him. Sorry that I didn't have anything more helpful for you.

If it's a dire emergency, I might consult with Kessler & Sons Music in LV.

From my experience, they are quite competent with the repair and setup of woodwind instruments. On that basis, there's at least a chance that they could be OK on brasswinds...in a pinch.

@Vegas Al: If they're a butcher shop when it comes to brass, please chime in.
