I now have this one to try, and it is "big enough" but....the bottom is slanted, on purpose, (not flat) which forces the tuba to rest on the edge of the bell, which seems unwise. Also, the way it seems to fit best, if the bag is laid down on its "back," then the tuba is resting on the valves, which is also unwise if you are bumping along with the case laid down in the back of the car.
If I put it in so that the tuba is not resting on the valves when the bag is laid on its back, the bell is also resting on its edge again, with one side not even in contact with the bottom of the case. This is also unwise, and does not seem to fit as well in the case.
I like the pockets on it, and the fact that the wheels are far enough apart that it is stable, and its light weight.
So would someone who has a Gard bag that they are finding useful, please post a picture of the "lid" zipped open and how the tuba is in the bag, so I can see how you did it? TY.

Re: Anybody with a Gard wheelie bag?
Thanks. Just like the other case I sent back, I don't want to have to alter the case just to see if I can get the tuba to fit properly, making it impossible to return. However your solution looks like the best one possible. Thanks for the picture. The case won't go in the car easily anyway, at least at my strength level. I guess I'm back to the top loader, a bin attached to my portable hand truck, and just deal with it.

Strength is what I don't have, and that is what is causing all the problems. I think this weighs more than my Mph 184 CC did, is about the same height, but a wider wrap. Gard has a video about how to use the pads on the bottom to keep it from resting on the rim, and I may try a couple more things with getting it to fit and how I could maybe get it in the car. It easily will go into the truck, if I can lift it, but the truck is not parkable in all venues, being huge itself.

Just sitting on the road side, watching tuba net comments, it sure sounds like your tuba is just too big, heavy, for you to lift, handle. For some reason a few folks on this website seem to think Big is better. This is may be true, if you are the only tuba, and it is a huge hall. Most of us common folks find it hard to play soft, in a normal sized room, so maybe a smaller tuba is the answer. A wise director told me once, it is not Tuba Christmas..How Loud and Big,, But how well you play as a group.
