He is FUN. Probably one of the most fun and personable guys I know!

I have performed with him, and also studied with him--only a few lessons though, when getting ready for an audition. I'd say I have had about 3-4 lessons with him, and I played beside him in River City Brass Band for about 6 months.

Being that our lessons were few in number, I cannot give you much advice... He was also helping me prepare for one audition, rather than improving my playing over a broad time... But, I can say that he did help me very much in that short time, and offered a ton of great practical advice for auditioning.

Duquesne... expensive... and stingy with the scholarships, so I have heard...

I only met him once, at the Army conference this past year. He sounded AWESOME! I was lucky enough to get to play for him in his masterclass, and although we only had a few minutes, he gave me some valuable suggestions. His CD's great too.
