Dynasty M845

Postby Karituba » Wed May 15, 2019 12:59 pm

I recently picked up a Dynasty M845 convertible tuba with only the marching lead pipe. I would like to be able to play the tuba as a concert tuba, but with Dynasty no longer in the business of instruments, I am having a difficult time finding a lead pipe to fit. I have tried two sizes of Jupiter convertibles with no luck. I don't want to spend the money to fabricate a new lead pipe and have called a couple of local instrument repair shops and they can't help me.

Any suggestions??

It's a fairly unblemished horn with quick fast valves... would hate to see it become yard art.

I don't know the bore of that Dynasty, but could a King 1140 concert leadpipe (soldered on I believe) fit? You might be able to find a thrashed 1140. Check the web for the bore size on both.
Some old Yorks, Martins and maybe a rotary CC King...
