Shout Out to Bloke and Mrs. Bloke
Yesterday I loaded up 3 of my horns in the pickup truck and made the trip to Blokeplace. Two of the horns were out, MTS length issues, one too short, the other too long, the third seemed stuffy. First we had some fantastic bbq ribs at a local establishment. Next we lugged the three horns into the shop to assess the severity of their issues with the aid of a tuner. Bloke went through the partials noting how much each was out, then he had me do the same. We learned yesterday that we both have the same attack and approach to our playing technique. Cutting to the chase, Bloke calculated how much tubing to add one the one horn and cut off from the other. I was blown away with the magic he was able to perform on those two horns in a few hours. It was great to watch him work and share stories back and forth. As for the third horn, I was simply over blowing the very small bore horn with my imperial cup setup, the fix was a solo cup with a small back bore shank. I would like to thank Bloke for the great job and the attention to detail.

Good stuff, Mr. Bloke! I was quite concerned about moving to Yankee-Land 13 years ago, but when I found that country sausage, biscuits & gravy, West Texas brisket, Barbeque and such were on menus in this area, I decided I'd be OK. Those, and fish restaurants on the Mississippi River make it quite tolerable here (except for February).
Keep up the good work, Sir.

I googled the place and it is actually not too awfully far from where my niece lives. She is way out on the East side of Memphis. It has to be better than the high-priced rib joint we went to last time we visited.
