Tuba Holding equipment

Post by Pulse98 »

Hey just wondering what you all use for holding your tubas. I've used tuba stands and cabinet liners in the past. But would like to see if something else would make holding it easier?

What kind of tuba do you have, and what kind of angle do you hold it at? There are a lot of ways out there I've seen tuba players holding their tubas. Some even put sticky pads on their pants to keep them from sliding.

I use this: https://www.amazon.com/Ludwig-L247TH-Li ... nts&sr=1-1

It's a drum stool. Tuba does not slide and it has holes to put the bolt through so it does the top does not slip or go lower.

I use the drum stool for sitting, and a dedicated tuba stand for keeping the horn in position:

In college, the mom of one of the euphs made a custom pillow for whoever wanted one. It was basically pillow foam wrapped in shelf liner. I used it on both horns I owned at the time, and still use it with my F.
