Didn't you build that horn? (The closer the connection to an item, the harder it is to part with it).

If it were my horn, and I liked the way it plays, unless I were hard up and really needed the money, I'd hold on to it.

Absolutely true - even if you are "promised" "first dibs", should the new owner put it up for sale (spoken from personal experience).

Might matter if you know what the funds gained are going to be used for. Put into the "family pot"? Spent on another horn, accessory? Spent on a special trip/experience? It might be easier know if selling it would be a gain in your total operation.

5 tubas, 10 trombones, 2 Euphs, 6 basses, and that's just my stuff. My music room is stuffed.
Wow, that's a lot of horns, Mark. Good for you. 10 trombones? I am a BIG fan of the old Benge 290 double independent rotors bass trombone with the G valve slide in two parts to enable tuning to Eb or D in first position with both rotors enabled. Got one ? Want to sell it?

You are more than welcome to send it to me to ensure it will get the proper attention and play time. And when the stars do align and you need it back I will get it back to you. :)

I sympathize.

But alas, i have no wisdom to share.

Sounds like we need a gossip advice column...
Thanks for playing!

Keep it, as it is definitely not easily replaceable. I have several trombones I'd never sell, mainly because with the closing of Kanstul, I would never be able to find others in as good a condition (i baby my horns).
