Photos and questions about the CSO Yorks

Ok 2 things - 1) are there any photos out there of the 2 horns side by side for comparison sake? i've done searches on this forum and google, and can't seem to find any.

2) i've read them referred to #1 and #2 - but #2 is now #1, etc and I've read one is a rehearsal horn and the other is a concert horn etc. etc.

I'm just curious about these mystical things - anyone?

They are definitely the two most mythical tubas in existence, and there are people who have seen/played them both, aside from Arnold Jacob's of course. They were both one offs, and I do recall hearing that they differ in dimensions somewhat. I also recall reading an Arnold Jacobs story where some brass tech told him that the rotary valve on one of his tubas needed replacement or removal, and he later saw it on someone else's tuba, so there's a lot going on with them.

I cannot remember which of the two was sent to Hirsbrunner for refitting. This thread may have more info:
