Getting Better: The good, bad, ugly

Post by brendanige »

Wrote a blog post a while ago. I have been thinking about this for a long time and my involvement with activism got me thinking about this again. Gatekeeping is a huge problem in music. These are some of my thoughts regarding that and staying motivated.

That's great. Thanks for sharing and raising the issue.

What I always find frustrating are those days when for whatever reason, things just are not working right. I had one of those yesterday, and it was like my tuba playing went back in time. Couldn't get notes to center. Even broke out the Eb tuba and didn't sound good. Maybe I've been practicing too much lately, or using the P.E.T.E. too much at work, but something just wasn't working.

TromboneSullivan, generally when I have those days I'll buzz a lot.

Yes, it definitely takes more than 10,000 hours....
