Tuba Bell Cover
I have an upcoming gig and have been told that I am required to have a bell cover. OY! I need recommendations.

If you're not opposed to a DIY solution, this is fairly simple.

Re: Tuba Bell Cover
After the air stream has gradually wandered along several yards of tubing how many of the bugs are still alive? The sound waves travel at, wait for it, the speed of sound. BUT the air moving from your lips to the bell takes several minutes. Try holding your hand against a trumpet bell. Feel that rush of wind??? Put a big balloon on your tuba bell and try blowing it upwards. You'll get a hernia first.
Please scream at and correct me. There must be scientists who can correct me.

This is the best summary I could find,
https://www.news-medical.net/news/20200 ... ssion.aspx
The amount of aerosols varies from instrument to instrument. Tubas appear to have low readings, while bass trombones and oboes are the highest. It makes sense to me that any protocols a group puts in place should apply to all sections. Low risk is still not no risk

Re: Tuba Bell Cover
That was already a fleeting thought that crossed my brain. However for a church gig, I don't want it to look like one of the Radio City Rockettes is stuck in my bell
