For those who are more deeply interested in the field of acoustics of brass instruments it probably would be useful to consult the recently published book: Murray Campbell, Joël Gilbert and Arnold Myers: The science of Brass Instruments, [Series] Modern Acoustics and Signalling Processing, Cham (Switzerland), Springer Nature, 2020. ISBN print 978-3-030-55684-6.
Sorry, I did not (yet) have the opportunity to consult it myself, but according to the abstract and other available information it is a very good overview of the latest scientific insights in the acoustics of brass instruments. And it should be readable with a rather limited knowledge of maths. The authors are renowned experts and researchers in the field. Unfortunately the book is not cheap, but there are (still) libraries.....

In regard to your search for an appropriate mouthpiece please note that the Perantucci PT-84 (large shank) and the PT-84S (small shank) work very well on full-compensated English Eb-tubas. For years we have supplied many of these, in particular to rather critical professionals.
In regard to the venerable 24AW, I make a similar mouthpiece, standard shell with large or small shank, also a heavy-shell version under our U.S. Robert Tucci brand which is quite different that the Bach-based versions. The rim is narrower, more contemporary, the throat bore is smaller and there are some other modifications as well. In general, this receives positive remarks as compared to older mouthpieces.

I would consider the advice of Mr. Tucci quite seriously. It's been my experience that he KNOWS what he's talking about.
