Sergio Carolino comes to Chicago

Subject: Tubist extraordinaire, Sergio Carolino, comes to Chicago. Lessons available!

Hello Troops,

Please pass this information along to anybody you think may be interested in this rare event. This would include friends, students, colleagues, fellow band/orchestra members, hobbyists, etc.

Portuguese tubist Sergio Carolino will be in Chicago starting next Friday and will remain through Monday (April 8-11).

Hearing him play will put the “dig” in “paradigm shift.” Should you have any doubts, type “Sergio Carolino tuba” in youtube and fasten your seat belts.

Please be aware that Sergio is available for private lessons on Sunday morning, April 10. The cost of a 55 minute lesson is $160. If you or any of your students have an interest in having a lesson with Sergio, please contact Ben Poirot: benpoirot2023@u.northwestern.edu .

APRIL 7:
• SC (Sergio Carolino) is transported from Indiana University, will stay at La Quinta Inn Downtown for one night.
APRIL 8:
• 10:00am-11:45am: Audition Class at Roosevelt University
• 12:30pm-1:55pm: Masterclass w/ RU Tubas
• 2:15pm-3:00pm: Low Brass Coaching on Mahler 3
• SC is transported up to Evanston and will check into the hotel
• 7:30pm-8:00pm Improvisational/Electronics Recital in McClintock Recital Room at Northwestern University
• 8:00pm-9:00pm Masterclass with NU Tubas

APRIL 9:
• SC Day Trip to DeKalb (Transported to/from Evanston by Scott Tegge)
• 10:00am-12:00pm: Jazz Class at Northern Illinois University
• SC returns to Evanston that afternoon
• 7:30pm-8:30pm Piano Rehearsal with Yoko Yamada in Pick-Staiger Concert Hall @ NU

APRIL 10:
• Morning / TBD: SC teaches lessons to anyone interested (Please email me if anyone would like a lesson!) Location: Bienen School of Music
• 7:30pm-8:30pm: SC Recital in Pick-Staiger Concert Hall @ NU - this is a free event!
APRIL 11:
• 12:00pm: Recital @ DePaul (Tickets available at DePaul University, but you must acquire them when you arrive. NU students’ tickets have been arranged for).
• Optional: Tuba Lessons for DePaul studio
• SC returns to IU
