Announcing the Joy Zickau Tuba Consortium!

Post by euphoniac84 »

Praised for her impeccable musicianship and keen sense of collaboration, composer, pianist, harpist, and Indigenous creator Joy Zickau (Seminole) maintains a busy performance career throughout the Northwest. Currently, she is on the piano and harp faculty at Whitworth University and performs as principal harp with the Coeur d’Alene and Washington-Idaho Symphonies. A pianist with numerous regional and national performance credits, Joy remains active as a composer of solo and chamber music. Her works have been performed by soloists and chamber ensembles around the United States and throughout the world. Joy’s most recent compositions featuring combinations of the bassoon, harp, and piano have been recorded on the WSU Recordings label.

Joy will compose a new work for tuba and piano containing 3-4 contrasting movements and about 8-10 minutes in length. The difficulty level will be appropriate for an advanced undergraduate student. To learn more about Joy and hear her impressive body of work, please visit her personal website https://www.joyzickau.com/.

Folks may join this consortium between now and April 15. There are buy-in levels for professionals ($40) and students ($20). After you complete this interest form https://forms.gle/aG9Uvt1Y1vk2gpvA7, I will email you the consortium contract outlining expectations for payment and future delivery of the score and parts. PDFs of the score and parts will be delivered to consortium members no later than August 15, 2025.

Thank you for your time and consideration!
