I have a Cerveny CBB 686-4 Series 4-Valve 4/4 BBb Tuba . The linkage rod on the first valve is real noisy. I can quiet it somewhat by putting a little slide grease on the ball; but it doesn't last too long. There is a little screw on each end, but it looks like it is tight already. I don't want to force it. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Tom

yeah, Cerveny linkage with the screw in the end SUCKS. Replace the full linkage will some kind of ball and socket system, even if it's dubro hobby parts

Re: Noisy rods on rotary valve linkage
Suggestions on how to source just what would be needed from Dubro or any other company, including instrument makers?
Asking for a friend. Thanks.

Re: Noisy rods on rotary valve linkage
sure it's easy. go to a hobby shop. you'll want some ball ends that screw into you existing hardware (stop arms and spatula levers) and then some connecting rods. If the ball ends are 3M, get 3m connecting threaded rods, and maybe some brass sleeves to put over there. If the ball ends are 4-40, use 4-40 rods.
