Hi. I'm hoping somebody will someday make a 'jiffy jazz' cimbasso: f/high Bb double - possibly with a double bell setup. Any of you Frankentuba builders thought of such a thing? . . . The idea is to have something to get one's foot in the door with local collegiate and nighttime 'daddy-o' type jazz bands. I've tried a regular F cimbasso, but it's still not agile enough, or easy enough to play up in the high register along with regular Bb trombone players. I've done it, but it's a struggle. It doesn't matter how small a mouthpiece you stick in there.

That would be a French horn, length-wise (F tuba and euphonium length, on double valves).

Yes, it would. I wish I had the skills to attempt such a thing myself.
