Dream tuba acquired

After many years of waiting, I have finally acquired my dream bass tuba, a Besson 983 Eb made in the London factory. I’ve been trying to buy one for at least 5 years and have wanted one for at least 10. I’ve always either had the money and one wasn’t available or not had the money and there was one or two on the market. Thankfully, the stars aligned and I was finally able to purchase it. After a few hours of practice on it today I have confirmed that this is the instrument that allows me to achieve the sound I hear in my head. I’ve fooled around with a bunch of f tubas but nothing has ever worked for me quite like a good besson Eb. I’m one happy tuba player today. What is your dream tuba, and are you lucky enough to own it?

I read through that thread. Might a suggest the Jacksonville Buffet Crampton showroom in Jacksonville Florida? If it’s anywhere near where you live it would be a good trip. B&S, Meinl Weston, and Besson are all represented there, and to be honest some of the most attractive BBb options come from the first two I mentioned. Unfortunately no miraphone, Rudy meinl, etc, but still lots of great options.

Thanks. I hadn't heard of that showroom. Alas, Jacksonville is a long way from Los Angeles.
