3/4 sized euph/baritones

Post by ken k »

I am looking for a good quality and inexpensive 3/4 sized baritone for my elementary band students. I have seen a Jupiter 462 which looked interesting but then I saw somewhere that they are no longer made. There is a Jupiter 474 with front acton valves and uprght bell which looks like the "American-style" baritone horn but with an upright bell. It is also under $1000. Deg Dynasty also is under $1000. I also saw a Getzen 823. Is there a small Weril baritone horn?

I do not care for the Amati instruments.

The traditional English style baritone horn would be great for beginners, but the cheapest Yamaha is $2000 and Bessons are close to that. Anything cheaper that still plays well enough for a beginner to sound good on?

How about the Weril H670 "Junior Baritone"?

Holton B650
DEG 823
King 623
