Lee Stofer is the man!

A couple of weeks ago, I got a chance to take my Miraphone 188 and 181 to Lee Stofer for some much needed work.
The experience was great. In two days time he managed to accomplish this:

Mirafone 188 5V

• Standard, complete servicing (cleaning, bright dip, dent work, etc...)
  Lapped 4th slide
  Rotor venting, 1st and 4th valves
  Fabricated large pull ring for 4th slide crook

Mirafone 181 6V

• Standard, complete servicing
  lapped 1st slide
  Rotor venting, 1st valve
  Fabricated, installed and adjusted 1st valve slide stop mechanism
  Fabricate and installed oversized 1st valve pull ring assembly, ring mounted on rod stock, brazed to flange to fit 1st slide crook, buffed and lacquered

Not only did he pull it off, he did a magnificent job. I even was free to toot on the neat intruments he had in shop.
Not only did I get some top quality repair, I got little bit of an education too about the lubes I was using and how to apply them. Plus all the usual tuba banter.
Great guy and great work.
