Conrad Kreutzer's Fantasy for Bassoon

Post by MichaelDenney »

I heard this piece on the radio on the way home tonight. The lyrical stuff is appealing, and the technical section has lots of energy and interest. Has anybody tried this piece on tuba or euph?

Is that the same Conradin Kreutzer who wrote "Das Nachtlager in Granada"? There's a great chorus ("Abendchor") from that opera that sounds magnificent played by a brass choir.
