For instance, out of "courtesy" I refrained from contradicting a post of yours in another thread, even though I did not "respect" the premise of that post.
Excellent distinction between the two terms, however both courtesy and respect are often missing in TubeNet posts.

Well, respect, courtesy, and satire are all parts of this post! (at least technically... ) :P
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Holy ****, Doc, someone ought to put a soundtrack behind that last speech. Of course, only to music that was respected and was written by a respected composer, but what the hell, it ought to be accompianied :) :) :) :) :)

I have gone to a few stores and supermarkets here in Saigon where they like to play hip hop music in the background. Something about the lyrics makes me lose my appetite when I am trying to decide which type of cold cuts to get for my lunch box when I hear the graphic language used in this stuff. I have told the store owners what they are saying. Most of them are shocked and can't believe they wasted their money on such drivel...

I started answering Doc's question.

But what you are saying is something totally different.

I have played with some great groups and I have played with groups that I wouldn't want to be heard with (seen, yes; just not heard with them).

If you are trying to make your living with your instrument, you take what you can get... there are a few things I won't do.

I have probably played for some things that would make this list.

And that doesn't bother me.
