Hopefully this one will return!!

Anyone who takes tubas in trade should have a pretty good idea of market value.

Hey Chris

I remember you from all state band many years ago. Anyway, I will keep a lookout for it - although I am kinda out of the loop these days.

Just a thought with all the Tuba Xmas's coming up....

There could be someone that's either A) not real bright and would steal it and show up there, or B) somehow ends up with it and brings it unknowingly to a Tuba Xmas.

Additionally, perhaps some pictures put upon the registration table at the local Tuba Xmas might help

Good luck,

Nice horn, and of course I wish you luck in recovering it.

Checking out your photo I note a hook-shaped rod - perhaps connected to the first valve slide? Or third, though I doubt it.

That looks fairly distinctive to me - not typical, right?

Just pointing it out for ID purposes, guys, as you maintain vigilance.

As a side note, does tubenet maintain a "hot sheet"? This isn't the only MIA horn - Fred Marzan's fine old Sovereign E Flat is out there somewhere too.

Chris,
I hope you don't mind, but I posted a report of this over on Dave Werden's site. They have a special place for lost/stolen horns, and I thought of you. It is a small community; maybe we can get it back!

Thanks again to all for the support and help. It's a tiny, close knit world we all chose to live in, and it's great to see that even after dropping out of it for a while I can get this much from the rest of us!

I'm headed out to the storage space in just a few minutes to see what else might have been taken - I know so far about the tuba, and a trombone I inherited from my great uncle.

At this point, I have pretty little hope that my horn is anything but dismantled and sold for scrap, but I know that the community is strong and supportive, and if it does turn up, it'll end up in the right hands.

Thanks again!! Of course, I'll keep you all posted.

Atypical indeed. It's to help pul out the third slide, though no ton the fly. Chris can correct me if I'm wrong...

Chris, I'm putting an APB on the Trombone-L as well to be on the lookout!

Info from a friend who lost a bunch of stuff from his storage area: he found out, belatedly, that a "hockey puck" type of lock is less easily cut than other types.

Sorry, and I hope it turns up.

Oh, i'm sooo sorry to hear about this. Many tubenetters have contacted me over the past two years with sightings of lacquer PCK's, like the one stolen from me 2 years ago. Sean, any way you could set up a "hotlist?"
