How about this 1918 USQMC Conn?
1918-conn-BBb-1978.jpg
I rescued it from a basement - removed the duct tape and nasty stuff growing in it and had it reassembled. Not a bad use of $350! Sold it to someone on the East Coast a few years ago. The band is http://ltwcmb.com/ (see if you can find a somewhat famous person playing sousaphone in our 2009 parade coverage.)

love the helmet.. I had one of those when i was kid! (helmet not the helicon) Is that a helicon helmet? to protect your head while putting the helicon on?

It helps if you change the diaper before you put the mute in! Granted, depending on how loud (or low) you play, you might have to change it again after ...

Interesting little horn!

It is hard to tell from that view - does the bell actually touch the top bow? What is that silvery thing at the crest of the top bow?

Here I am with my 1929-ish Conn 4 banger (playing with the Zenith Brass Band at "New Orleans By The Bay" a few years ago. The festival is no more.)

Here is a particularly flattering shot of me and my Mirafone 186, located just beneath a wonderful portrait of Abe Lincoln [the first one, not the latter-day version]

Edit: I think I did everything correctly, but I still can't view the picture! :(
Edit Edit: I fixed it for you - Schlepp
