yes, the calcium and other stuff in your saliva makes a slightly acidic formulation, the leaches the brass differentially (copper at a different rate than zinc) which gives the red rot/weakness to the brass.TubaTinker wrote:From my experience... those calcium deposits often are the breeding ground for 'red rot'.
