My group is playing the quintet book this week at a nearby VA hospital. We think it'll make a lot of people happy, including ourselves, thanks Wade!

Re: FREE BRASS MUSIC (changes)
Lucky me. Lucky, lucky me. Today, December 23, 2010, I played Wade's quartets with a local family brass ensemble (prodigies aged 13, 14, 17, and 19 plus two adults). We played in nearby Cambridge, Massachusetts (at Harvard Square). We had plenty of time to sight read the quartets, and we actually played most of them. What a good time!UTSAtuba wrote: . . . Too bad I don't really have anyone to play this with, but it's great to have. . .
There was an open trumpet case in front of us, and in ninety minutes it was filled with cash. Ho, ho ho!
Wade, in my experience, limited though it may be, most of the brass quartet literature is fine for euphonium or bass trombone on the bottom, but tuba just doesn't work. But with your Christmas quartets the tuba works gracefully and effectively with trumpet, horn and trombone. Suddenly quartet playing is easier. You have made a substantial contribution to the literature. Thank you for your creativity and thank you for your conscientious editorial improvements.

Re: FREE BRASS MUSIC (changes)
Merry Christmas from Down Under!!!
Thanks again Wade. We used Carol of the Bells and I Wonder as I Wonder last night (Christmas Eve) at our regular Christmas quintet gig and both were well received amongst the rest of our program including items from Canadian Brass Christmas Book and a Salvation Army publication, Sounds of Christmas.
Lunch is busily being prepared at the moment, but some of the quartet book has just come off the printer for some family music making at some stage. My wife on cornet, Dad on horn, sister on trombone and myself on Tuba. One of our friends here for lunch has a fancy looking video thingy, so will see if I can some captured and put up. Duets will most likely get a go too, but that will be dependent on Dad's chops (and how much turkey he gets through)!!!
Merry Christmas to all.
Andrew
