I'm glad that PriceLine is working for some of you. If they run out of openings try the Econolodge in Arlington. My room there will not be as inexpensive as the Priceline bargains, but is considerably less than other places in the area.

Three of the instruments I was planning to bring have sold in the last week, but I should have a good variety still;
- B&S GR-51 /PT-605 BBb - lacquered, very nice, in SKB case
- Conn 20J, satin/bright silver, in original cases, former Navy Band horn, factory-overhauled back in the day, exceptional
- King 1291 4-rotor large-bore BBb recording bass from the 1930's, w/ gig bag, very sweet player
- Jupiter JSH 590 University Quad Series 4-valve BBb sousaphone, nearly-new, serviced and improved in my shop, w/ case
- Conn 40K 4-valve sousaphone, satin/bright silver/gold trim, 4-valve, w/ case
- Stofer-Conn "Franken-Tuba", 5/4 custom instrument built from 1914 Conn Union-label BBb, Meinl-Weston Big Valve valveset, Willson and Rudolf Meinl parts. After consulting with a design expert, I re-braced the main tuning slide area and the 2nd branch area, and eliminated the pitch and response issues. It is amazing what adding 7 braces in just the right places can do, making a horn play much easier.
- Stofer 4/4 CC tuba, prototype in polished raw brass, a "don't miss" horn to play at this year's Conference. This horn has been developed and perfected first as a 4-valve model, which I will refer to as Model 1. The model 2 will have an independent 5th rotor after the main tuning slide, and Model 3 will have a dependent 5th valve in the lower 4th valve tubing. The idea is to offer 5-valve models where the placement does not interfere with the response and agility of this instrument. Patterned after the York model 33, the design is the closest thing you can get today to a brand-new American tuba from the 1930's.
- Meinl-Weston William Bell Model CB4 CC tuba, circa 1971, lacquered, 4 rotors. A rare tuba with .689" rotors, one-piece upright bell, and a large 4th slide on top to manage low range pitches. I made a new miniball-linkage system for the tuba with nickel-silver rods, making the valves quite nice.
- JCS compact BBb Cimbasso, satin-silver plated, 3-piston, with two leadpipe options, allowing it to be played either bell-forward or upright, w/ Rudolf Meinl cimbasso mouthpiece and Altieri bag. A very affordable cimbasso.
- King euphonium, one-piece upright bell, 3 front valves, lacquered, a nice-playing, economical instrument w/ case.
I will have a variety of mouthpieces available, with sale prices on both new and pre-owned mouthpieces. The sale prices will be offered to all customers during this time period, whether you are at the Conference, or contact me online or via cell.
We are sort-of "on pins and needles" right now, as a shipment of Schlipf mutes sent nearly two months ago has still not materialized here, but I will offer what models I have, and take orders for the ones still on their way from Austria, as needed. I plan to have repair tools and supplies with me and will do small repairs on-site, and will be happy to discuss possible restoration projects at the booth, too. If you bring the instrument, I will write-up a firm quote for repairs or restoration. I will have Hetman Lubricants available for sale, too.
I look forward to weather in Washington, DC that is better than here. Since we are getting more snow this weekend, and it is predicted to be -18F when I leave Tuesday morning in the truck, I'm sure DC will feel mild by comparison.

Who else is stymied by weather? Beautiful Birmingham is coated in ice. Atlanta appears to be not much better. Incredibly, I'm now re-routed through Detroit...tomorrow. Be there by midnight (Delta willing).
