October is a GREAT piece and will undoubtedly be a standard soon. And I'll say again Poema Alpestre. If you haven't heard it do so.

i'd just like to thank everyone so far for only letting frankie T's name only slip onto this post once. probably everything he writes is going to be a standard, but they shouldn't. no depth to his music at all. sorry about my rant. i'd like to give a nod to "Myaku" by david djube i think it'll be the next "short ride in a fast machine"

Ticheli's Symphony for Band is another good piece that is slowly becoming popular.

Basically anything by Ticheli could be standards at all levels now a days.

These aren't all "classics," but some have sweet tuba parts.

Exaltate (Sweet bass lines, 16th runs, melody goes up to Eb above the staff)... Hazo
Godspeed (Melody and cool bassline parts) ... Mellilio
Suite of English Dances (sets 1 and 2) (Melody a few times, lots of hard fast parts)... Malcom Arnold
Concertino for 4 Percussion and Wind Ensemble... Gillingham
