Anything from Hans Zimmer, especially the pirates of the carribean music. I always get chills from that music

I love Rachel Portman's scores, particularly Chocolat.
My favorite John Williams score is The Terminal, although I like a lot of his work, even if others find it too commercial.
Others that I listen to regularly are:
Sideways
That Thing you Do

I think the score from the Lord of the Rings trilogy is some of the best writing I've ever heard... surprised no one has mentioned it yet.

If you like Rachel Portman's work, you might also want to check out Road to Wellville:Lew wrote:I love Rachel Portman's scores, particularly Chocolat.

Never saw the movie, but based on the music and dialogue on the CD, it sounds quite broad. Some funny small ensemble tunes in there with very exposed tuba playing. I enjoy listening to it.

The Incredibles, Hellboy I and II, and Sweeney Todd.
Anything with good brass is okay in my books, as well as creepy woodwinds haha.

Re: Favorite Movie Soundtracks?
I second the Seven Pounds soundtrack.
The soundtrack for The Illusionist is all done by Phillip Glass, and is amazing if you like his music.
I dont remember if it was already mentioned, but Dances with Wolves and Out of Africa are two amazing soundtracks done by John Barry who writes incredibly emotional music.
I do love almost all of John Williams music, actually go to hear the LSO perform an entire concert of his movie music in Daytona, FL a couple years ago.
