As far as I can tell, changes/improvements are implemented by the factory as requested by dealers. If anyone can work out what changes are needed to the F tuba to make it play in tune (and modify one as an example to prove), I will happily take to the factory on my next visit to request incorporation in production.
My perception (and it is only perception) is that the expansion after the valves is just too fast and doubt if changing leadpipe is the solution.
