Re: Me & My Tuba, Add You & Yours
Really the false thread, as nobody and nothing in the photo is mine, but I liked this Christmas greeting shot by Norwegian tuba friend Sondre Villanger Håland, who lives with his family here in Denmark.
The valve manipulator is senior twin Marius and the blower is junior twin Vetle, both 2 months short of being 5 years old. The mute is their baby sister Josefine, 5 months old.
I doubted the boys’ balancing abilities, and Sondre admitted to having Photoshopped mummy, euphonista Lene Therese Grindheim, out of the picture.

I love the slant rotor Marzans. Perhaps the only rotory tuba that can comfortably be held "York style."Tubaryan12 wrote:TubaChristmas Cleveland 2011
Great sounding horns, too (expecially the rotary ones). Not too big or too small; nice "full sized" tubas.
You've had that about 10 years now, or so, right?

Close. 7 years this past November. I only know this because I recently found some old notes I had taken at work when when I was calling around and trying to decide where to drive to shop for a horn. Baltimore Brass won (and so did I).MartyNeilan wrote:You've had that about 10 years now, or so, right?Tubaryan12 wrote:TubaChristmas Cleveland 2011

"Pit Model" King Symphony Tuba in BBb. Unknown player on the left, Jack Barsby on the right. Me in the middle!

Re: Me & My Tuba, Add You & Yours
Of course time and distance prevent me from having real knowledge, yet posture, hair, and facial traits make me strongly suspect the left player being a much younger Jack Barsby.tubahed wrote:"Pit Model" King Symphony Tuba in BBb.
