Some seem to believe that a compensated tuba is less free blowing due to extra length of tubing
Why I do not prefer a compensated BB has nothing to do with the compensating system.
I'd love to have it...If I could have everything else as well.
The reason whay it plays/sound different has got to to with ~100 other factors
Why I mentioned Cory band? Well....When they had like 5 (6!) compensated tubas on that back row
and Steve was the smallest lad(!), the sounded nothing less than excellent!
I am sorry that it might have led to people thinking that one has to be over-natural good size XXXL to play one
