It has been my experience that sarcasm doesn't come through the computer screen all that well. There is no voice inflection to indicate when it is being used.

It is difficult at times to determine whether it is being used or not.

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

We'll see. It's a pretty low bar.

What's the problem? several shots immediately before boarding, and redeyes can be very restfull and efficient.

Or, you could book the same seats that Canadian Brass did when
they were advertising Silent Brass (although...I seem to recall that
Chuck was just listening during that commercial)

Shots of what? I tried alcohol on trip to Anchorage today. No go. Both legs--Dulles to Denver and Denver to Anchorage, were absolutely full precluding any hope of comfortable seating. And my traveling last year was too much by car and I lost my premium seating priority. On the longer leg, I was sitting in the next-to-last row behind a fellow who had apparently not bathed in a week. Try to sleep when you are being battered on one side by the cart (and the flight attendants' and lavatory-seeking passengers' wide hips), made to get up every few minutes by row-mates who have no bladder control, and being twisted by sitting next to people even fatter than me.

And even if you have upgrade credits (which I do), just try to use them when Dulles, Chicago, or Denver are involved. Even when I was a United Premier Executive, I could not use my upgrades very often because of being outranked by international business travelers in the 1K club.

I get more sleep while driving.

Flying is no fun anymore.
Between what Rick Denney listed plus all the security hassle, I would rather travel any way but by air.
I bet a private Lear jet would be lots-o-fun.
We pronounce it Guf Coast
