I've also been looking for Tequila, for my son (7th grade saxophone). None of the sax books at the local stores have it. I'd be happy to buy a book, anyone have a book title and publisher?

I remember playing a low brass arrangement of this, but I don't have a copy. I can check with some people who might know and see if I can find out who published it.

There are plenty of midi files out there. There's a good one on this page that has a sax lead:

Pull it into a midi program... massage it a little... and print it out.

I searched around the net a bit, Hal Leonard "Songs of the 50s" has it, there are versions for most instruments, about $15.

We weren't allowed to play Tequila in my High School's Pep Band, because of it's reference to alcohol...even though we played it with no words

I believe that Finale has a freeware product called Notepad. I think it might be on this page:

Go to someplace like Books-A-Million and look in the fake books. It sould be in one of them along with many other fun pieces to play.

A piano book is exactly what you need. It'll give you the melody, as long as the chords and harmony to write out.

Sir Bloke, yes that last one is a great find, My son and I will be learning it as a duet. The sax part seems a bit low, I believe the low Bb is the lowest possible on an alto... if necessary I can transpose it up. Thanks.

Finale Notepad doesn't import MIDI, but their step-up product, Notepad Plus ($25), does.

There are several free methods, though I don't know about Microsoft Windows versions of them. Denemo and Lilypond have means to import MIDI but I haven't worked with MIDI much. NoteEdit is good for quick stuff. But I haven't used it much either.

I tend to use raw lilypond format and a text editor:)
