I have a recording of it in the tuba/band version somewhere. Are you planning on playing it with band or piano??

Hi Rommel,

I'm planning to play it with piano, but definitely wouldn't mind listening to one with band or orchestra as well. My pianist would have to try to listen and imitate the band though... Is there anyway you can send me the recording? Thanks alot again.

I will try to find the recording. However let me say this. I have performed this piece with piano twice. IMHO, this piece is not condusive for tuba/piano. There are a number of things with the band accompaniment which just flat out do not work on piano. If you still want to do the piece, that is cool. I will look for the recording, but I would suggest you consider another concerto. Good Luck.

Hi Rommel, thanks for suggestion. Quite frankly speaking, none of the tuba concertos that i've come across in my short span of tuba playing works well with piano accompaniment, or at least that's what i think. I've been working on the Walter Ross for quite a bit, and the competition preliminaries are just round the corner, so looks like I'll be sticking with it this time. Many thanks for your help again, hope to hear from you soon.
