New Tuba Book!

Hi, everyone!
I’ve got some very cool and useful news to share!
Recently one of my good friends, Joseph Ritchie, put together his own tuba technique book! I’ve been able to look at and play each exercise he’s put in, as well as read and view his tips and videos on how to use the book.
Here are my thoughts:
First, we all know about “standard” method books, technical exercises, etc. But how many of us actually know how to use them, or understand the point of each one? How do we know if we’re even doing it right?
Joseph’s solution to these questions is to make videos for each section of the book. Want to know what it’s supposed to sound like? Check out the video! He also discusses his philosophy on each section as well, and it’s good to hear somebody’s thoughts on warm-ups and what you should be accomplishing with it. I enjoy having a guide. Once you leave school, you are on your own, and it feels to me like we’re getting some lessons and teaching from our method book. Really, really great idea and extremely helpful.
As far as content, Joseph has compiled exercises that address each different aspect of your playing. Want to work high range on the big horn? There’s a section for that. Are you like me and struggle with consistency in your playing? Joseph includes a technique tracker that has you write down exactly what you’re doing each day. As a future educator, this is a wonderful addition not only for teachers and students but anybody who has a hard time really developing a practice technique.
Each exercise includes bulleted lists of tips, directions, and an explanation of what that specific exercise will help develop. Again, it’s great to know specifically what is going to help a certain deficiency in your playing.
After the warm-up section, the book contains things such as lip bending exercises, articulation, chromatics, arpeggios, and several others. Again, if you’re like me and struggle with consistency, play these! Everything here has a purpose and will help you get better.
Joseph is offering a SALE on this excellent book for the next 8 hours! Get yours today for $27.99. You will love it! I find it to be a great collection of everything we need to be successful and become better at our instrument. Give it a look here:
