Greetings

I am posting this on behalf of Robert Nunez. Some of you may know him, Robert is the tubist of the Louisiana Philharmonic, and New Orleans Opera. Robert also taught at both Tulane and New Orleans Universities.

Robert evacuated New Orleans safely with his family and is now staying with friends in Houston.

However, practically all of his means of employment are now completely gone. He is looking for anything tuba related to make some income and any help you can offer.
He’s a great guy and was a big influence to me years ago.

Below is his bio.
Robert Nunez has performed as Principal Tuba of both the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New Orleans Opera since 1992. He is currently engaged as Adjunct Professor of Tuba at the University of New Orleans and Tulane University. Mr. Nunez has served as Professor of Tuba at both Delgado University and Loyola University of New Orleans, and was previously employed as Instructor of Brass on the faculty of the Phantom Regiment Drum Corps from 1988-1996.

Mr. Nunez graduated from Chalmette High School in Louisiana, and has completed academic coursework at Louisiana State University, Southeastern Louisiana University, and the University of New Orleans. His teachers include the legendary pedagogue Arnold Jacobs, former Principal Tuba of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Neal Tidwell, Principal Tuba of the former New Orleans Symphony.

Mr. Nunez is active as a soloist He recently performed the Tuba Concerto by Ralph Vaughan-Williams with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in the 1999-2000 Season. Mr. Nunez has performed with numerous brass ensembles, including the Fanfare Brass Quintet performing as a school outreach ensemble for disadvantaged children, and the Louisiana Philharmonic Brass Quintet. He has also performed with many Dixieland bands in the greater New Orleans area. Recently Mr. Nunez was a guest clinician at the San Antonio Brass Camp in August 2005 in which he coached high school students and performed solo pieces for tuba in recital.

Mr. Nunez maintains an active teaching schedule, offering providing comprehensive private instruction in instrumental pedagogy for elementary, high school, undergraduate, and graduate students formerly in the metropolitan New Orleans area Until the Katrina Disaster. He has recently relocated to the Houston area.
