Having searched for a new mouthpiece over a 2-year period I ended up falling for Breslmair's F3B.

My old Besson 782 (nee Imperial) EEb bass tuba's receiver was cut for an American standard shank.

Breslmair stock tuba mouthpieces are all European standard shanks.

My Besson horn would take a European shanked mouthpiece, but didn't sit fully home.

I contacted Breslmair in Austria, through their Facebook page, and they were immediately on the case.

A little time later a replacement mouthpiece was manufactured with an American standard shank - good job and no additional charge, too!

I bought a Breslmair mouthpiece for my York EE flat some years ago. Its 31mm so its a little small but its a good piece of kit to have , more suited to special situations i.e. Berlioz ,Mendelsohnn, that sort of thing.
Better still, I bought a big Breslmair , 33mm , for my BBflat 994 and it's been my go to for the last 15 years or so. It's pretty meaty to say the least, not coarse but it certainly has presence. It takes a fair amount of grunt before it fights back. I haven't got the model number handy since I don't keep my BB flat at home and I think they have changed the numbering in any event. It's been a good buy .
They are a cracking good company with a great reputation. They model their Tuba mouthpieces after older classic models in order to achieve the "Wiener Klangstil". That expression doesn't translate easily into English but is explained on the Breslmair site. Roughly , it means the special sound they make in Vienna , partly the instruments , partly the players , partly the integrated house style in that part of the world and all their own. It's unique. Breslmair is part of that tradition.
