Hi,
here is my Soundcheck of the new Josef Lidl BBb-Tuba Moldova. 100% handmade in Czech Republic
There is a new 4/4 5 valve CC-Tuba at the Midwest in Chicago this year. Sounds great. Like a new Piggy

Indeed, there was a Moldau model 5-valve CC tuba at Midwest in Chicago. The recording cannot really give you the feel of just how large this tuba sounds. Lidl calls it a 4/4 but I'd consider it to be a compact 5/4. There was also a Moldau Deluxe model BBb, with rose brass bell and 2nd valve trigger, an 883 Deluxe model (Opera Model) CC with 5 right-hand valves, 2nd slide trigger, rose brass bell and leadpipe, an extremely compact but potent tuba, three new F-tubas and other goodies.
Lubos Hvlaty, the young and energetic CEO of Lidl, himself a low brass player, was there, and we had a great time!

Hi Lee,
yes absolutely. J.Lidl has a lot of potential to make really, really good instruments. I was in Hradec Kralove this autumn and could check all the Tubas. Very, very good ones!

Lee, will the CC Moldova be at the TUSAB conference if not already sold?
Actively looking for a 5/4-ish CC for decent sized community orchestra (5-8 basses on average) and large brass ensemble with fairly strong players.

Yes, sir, I have two Lidl Moldau CC tubas, and will have them at the Exhibit booth on Friday and Saturday of this week.
One is the regular Moldau CC, yellow brass, and the other is the Moldau Deluxe, with rose brass bell, 2nd valve slide trigger,
hand engraved bell and a couple other goodies.
