Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone has played or reviewed the new F and Eb tubas from St. Petersburg?
I saw them both recently on tuba exchange. The models are the 206 and 207.
Thank you all!

Re: St. Petersburg F and Eb tubas
I stopped by Durham NC last month and was able to try the St Pete 207, a John Packer 2250 clone, and the Eastman rotary F they had in stock back-to-back.
I wasn't super impressed with the 207, the valve spatulas were very thin and flexible, making it feel cheap. The 2nd valve trigger was slow and clunky, it didn't move very easily. The response was OK, for a small rotary F tuba, but it had inconsistent pitch, with a high 3rd partial C in the staff, and the 23 series was pretty far out too.
For a little over $4k, I'd look elsewhere for a used Chinese made F from another company. YMMV

I test blew meinl-weston, st. pete, and miraphone Eb's.
The Miraphone was the best of the bunch, but twice the price of the St.Pete.
The St. Pete is not as refined, or as well-built, but very good value in comparison.
